Coppell on Hunt for Noel
July 22, 2008
Dundee United striker Noel Hunt may get his wish to play alongside his brother Stephen after Reading manager Steve Coppell made a €650,000 bid for the player.
However, the initial bid has been rejected by the SPL side and it remains to be seen whether Coppell is willing to bid for the former Shamrock Rovers striker.
Hunt has always stated that he would love to line out alongside younger brother Stephen in an Ireland jersey, but the 26-year-old could be doing it at club level yet.
Reading sold striker Dave Kitson to Stoke City last week and with Kevin Doyle’s future uncertain, Coppell needs to strengthen his attacking options.
Hunt scored 20 goals for United last season and is one of the most consistent strikers in the SPL, which has alerted the attentions of a number of possible suitors.
