Liverpool celebration “a dream” – Robbie
October 3, 2008
Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane admits the chance to celebrate a goal at Anfield this week was the realization of a lifelong dream.
Keane notched his first Liverpool goal in the Uefa Champions League victory over PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.
He followed it with his trademark tumble and pistol-shot celebration, and said: “I’ve dreamt of doing that as a Liverpool player since I was a kid.
“I haven’t the celebration in a while. At Spurs I only did it on special occasions, but this was a special occasion.
“Scoring my first goal here and getting a standing ovation when I came off, it was a great moment for me. The fans have been incredible and I hope I’ve paid them back a bit.”
