O’Shea laughs off “gay” taunts

Republic of Ireland international John O’Shea has laughed off anti-gay taunts from rival supporters.
O’Shea admits he has been the victim of homophobic taunts from rival supporters for a number of years.
The 27-year-old Manchester United star – who is engaged to Waterford girl Yvonne Manning – said: “The Man City fans think I’m gay. I’ve been gay for about five years according to them.
“I laugh every time we play City and they sing a certain song at me. I just brush it off – it doesn’t annoy me.
“What can you do? What can the FA do – put a load of stewards in and throw loads of people out? It’s ridiculous, but it’s just a bit of banter really.”
