St Ledger backs Morrison recall

Middlesbrough defender Sean St Ledger is in no doubt that Clinton Morrison’s current form could well see him make a return to the international fold.

St Ledger had the arduous task of marking Morrison during the side’s 2-2 draw on Saturday where in fact both players got on the score sheet during the 90 minutes.

Morrison has made an impressive start to the season and many feel that his form should warrant a recall to the Ireland squad; a situation that St Ledger would back.

“I’d love Clinton to get a call-up. If he keeps scoring, it’s going to be hard to ignore him because his actions are speaking louder than words,” said St Ledger.

“We link well together and our friendship has a part in that. We’ve got healthy competition now; I’m on his tails for goals.”
