Sheehan leaves Leeds for Swindon
November 27, 2009
Former Republic of Ireland under-21 defender Alan Sheehan has left Leeds United for a loan spell at League One rivals Swindon Town.
Sheehan was brought to Elland Road by Gary McAllister and has been unable to force his way into the plans of the Scot’s successor, Simon Grayson.
Despite having a year and a half of his Leeds contract remaining, he is regarded as surplus to requirements and has also spent time on loan at Crewe Alexandra and Oldham Athletic this year.
The 23-year-old, who hails from Athlone, will stay at Swindon until January 4th and has been given permission to play in the FA Cup second round tie against Wrexham this weekend.
