The poles come in 8-, 10-, 12- and 15-metre standard lengths. The 8- and 10-metre poles and associated brackets are carried ex-stock, while special orders have a maximum delivery time of just three weeks.

In terms of sport, a wide variety of disciplines is accommodated for. As MD John Cummins notes: “We do a good mix between soccer, GAA, rugby, tennis courts, greyhound tracks etc. - basically depending on what exactly the customer wants. We carry the full range of columns and t-bars for sports lighting ... be that fields, courts, tracks or all-weather pitches, which are becoming extremely popular.”
Piltown Engineering manufactures, supplies and delivers, and a comprehensive nationwide service is provided.
A lot of smaller clubs are now buying their fields, applying for lottery money and putting up lighting - an area in which the expert team at Piltown Engineering is becoming increasingly active.
John continues: “There are a lot of junior clubs involved in the various district leagues who are getting floodlighting installed at the moment and that’s a particular area we specialise in. We have a proven track record in that field and are renowned for catering for junior soccer clubs and small GAA pitches.”
Essentially a family business, Piltown Engineering employs a team of ten people between manufacturing and administration.
