Hoops odds-on to land Keane

Celtic have been installed as odds-on favourites to snap up free agent Roy Keane.
Keane parted company with Manchester United in a shock development on Friday afternoon.
That immediately set in train a glut of rumours as to where he will go next – and Celtic are regarded as the racing certainties to sign the former Irish captain.
The Hoops are listed as 8/15 favourites with Paddy Power, and the extent to which they are seen as a shoo-in for his services can be gauged by the fact that no other club are in single figures.
Middlesbrough, who are managed by former United assistant manager Steve McClaren, are listed as 12/1 second favourites, with Everton and Aston Villa available at 16/1.
Anyone who feels that Keane could still make the jump to the continent can have 25/1 that Keane’s next competitive game will be with AC Milan, with AS Roma at 33/1, Real Madrid 40/1 and Barcelona and Juventus – where he could join forces with erstwhile nemesis Patrick Vieira – both 50/1.
A return to the eircom League with Cork City is rated a 50/1 chance, while Cobh Ramblers – who he left for Nottingham Forest in a £10,000 move 15 years ago – are seen as 100/1 long-shots.
Anyone who thinks he will patch up his differences with Mick McCarthy and come to the aid of Sunderland’s relegation battle can also have 100/1 on that scenario becoming a reality.
